Main types of bet

Asian Handicap (AH)

This bet can be in the form of a single or double handicap. In a single handicap one team is favoured to win by a certain number of goals, which is known as the handicap. This is then subtracted from the final result to determine the winner. There is also the possibility of a "Draw No Bet" line, in which case there is no handicap, and all stakes are refunded if the match ends in a draw. In a double handicap the game has two different handicaps involved, and the stake is split in half between them. Please see the examples of all possible double handicaps below.

Team
Handicap
Odds
Arsenal
-0, -0.5
-110 (1.91)
Barcelona
+0, +0.5
-110 (1.91)

Betting on Arsenal

  • Arsenal win: your bet wins, as both halves cover their respective handicaps (-0 and -0.5)
  • Arsenal draw: you lose half your bet (half the bet ends in a push/draw, while the other half loses)
  • Arsenal lose: your bet loses as both sides fail to cover their handicaps

Betting on Barcelona

  • Barcelona win: your bet wins, as both halves cover their respective handicaps (+0 and +0.5)
  • Barcelona draw: you win half your bet (half the bet ends in a push/draw, while the other half wins)
  • Barcelona lose: your bet loses, as both sides fail to cover their handicaps

Correct score

Correct Score means predicting the exact score of a match at the end of normal time.

Both teams to score means the 2 teams participating in a football match will score. Please note that an own goal counts as a goal for the team which the goals is credited with.

Both teams to score

NO- This means you are predicting that both teams would not score.

Double Chance (DC)

Goal Line

Goal line betting the oddsmaker sets a total number of goals to be scored in the match (this includes both teams totals). You can then bet on whether there will be more or fewer goals scored than the indicated goal line.

It is not uncommon for the goal line to be a whole number, such as 2, 3, 4 or any other amount. In these cases it is possible for a push to occur. If the match finishes with the exact number of goals being scored as the goal line total then the bet is considered a push/draw and your wager amount is refunded.

Total goals over/under

Bet on whether the total amount of goals in a match will be above or below a specific figure pitched by the bookmaker e.g. 2.5.

Goalscorer

Its several different goalscorer markets to bet on - the following are some of the more popular:

Half Time / Full Time (HT/FT)

E.g

Home/Home - Home team to lead at half time, and win the match.

Draw/Draw - The game to be level at half time, and a draw at full time.

Away/Home - The away team to lead at half time, but the home team to win the match.

Half Time / Full Time Correct Score

Half Time / Full time Correct Score means predicting the exact score at half time and also exact score of a match at the end of normal time.

Handicaps (HC)

Handicap in football betting means an advantage for one of the sides that is given beforehand and is applied to the final result of the game. Another common variant of handicaps play is Asian Handicap, read Asian Handicap.

E.g

You have played Manchester U (-1)

1. Manchester United win by Two goals or more. Handicap result is Man Utd, so our selection wins.
2. Manchester United win by exactly 1 goal. Handicap result is a Tie, so our selection loses.
3. The game ends in a draw or a West Brom win. Handicap result is a WBA win, so our selection loses.

Multi Scores

This means you are picking a player to score more than 1 goal. Ex. Player to score two or more Goals

Timecast

Choose the first scorer. Choose the time the first goal will be scored.

Winning Margin

Winning margin betting is when you place a bet where you predict how many goals the team who wins will win with. Example, if you bet on winning margin with 2 goals, the team needs to win with 2 goals, i.e. 2-0, 3-1, 4-2 etc.

Different types of bets (Sports)

Tennis

Handicap 2-way Games won

Handicap bets mean you are betting on one player to beat another, with a particular handicap applied. The outcome of the bet is decided by applying the handicaps to the actual result of the match.

For example, if Nadal beats Murray 7-6, 6-4:

Murray total games won (6 + 4) = 10.
Nadal total games won (7 + 6) = 13.

Bets on Murray +3.5 Games Handicap win, as with the handicap applied, Murray's score (10 + 3.5 = 13.5) beats Nadal's 13 games.

Handicap 3-way Games Won

Handicap bets mean you are betting on one player to beat another, but In 3 -way bets, there are three possible outcomes.

Nadal + 3
Tie Murray - 3
Murray -3

Murray -3 = Murray must win with 4 game or more, otherwise the bet loses.

Tie Murray -3 = The bets wins ONLY if Murray win with 3 game

Nadal + 3 =If Nadal win with 3 game or more the bet wins

Basketball

Game Totals / Total Points

Point Spread / Spread

A point spread is a type of head start for the underdog of any sporting event or competition. Bettors have the option of wagering on the favourite to win by more points than the assigned spread, or they can bet on the underdog to lose by fewer points than the assigned spread

E.g

New York Jets -3 New York Jets need to win the game by more than three points to win the wager

New England Patriots +3 New England Patriots would need to lose by less than three points in order to win the wager

If two teams tie when using a point spread format, this is referred to as a push. In the example above, if the New York Jets won by three points, the game would be deemed a push

Quarter and half betting

Bettors can also choose to bet on the first quarter or first half in a game. The options - Money Line, point spread and Game totals - are the same but the time period for which the bet relates to is just reduced.

Ice Hockey

1st Period

Bettors can also choose to bet on the 1st Period in a game. The options - Money Line, Puck Line and Game totals - are the same but the time period for which the bet relates to is just reduced.

Game Totals / Total Points

Betting on whether the total number of points scored by both sides will be over or under a figure set by the bookmaker.

Moneyline is the American version of Match winner. You bet on which team (players) you think will win.

Puck Line / Handicap

This is a betting line used only for ice hockey games in which a point spread is applied to the favorite and underdog with the odds adjusting to that point spread and the relative strength of the team. Typically, the underdog receives +1.5 goals with the favorite getting -1.5 goals, which means for the underdog to win the bet they must not lose by 2 or more goals and for the favorite to win they must win by at least 2 goals. Additional puck lines, such as +/- 2.5 are also generally offered at sportsbooks.

Terms A-Z

2 -way

2-way bets generally indicate bets on events where there are only two possible outcomes, as in tennis or basketball.

3- way

In 3-Way bets, there are three possible outcomes and you have to pick the right one. The ordinary football bet – win, draw, or loss – is a classic 3Way-bet.

3 -way handicap or European handicap

A way of creating value in bets by either giving a team a goal or more head start or starting from a losing position. In 3-Way bets, there are three possible outcomes.

Man Utd -1
Draw -1
Boro +1

Man Utd -1 = United must win by 2 goals, otherwise the bet loses.

Draw -1 = The bets wins ONLY if Man Utd win by one goal

Boro +1 = If Boro win or draw, the bet wins

Asian Handicap (AH)

This bet can be in the form of a single or double handicap. In a single handicap one team is favoured to win by a certain number of goals, which is known as the handicap. This is then subtracted from the final result to determine the winner. There is also the possibility of a "Draw No Bet" line, in which case there is no handicap, and all stakes are refunded if the match ends in a draw. In a double handicap the game has two different handicaps involved, and the stake is split in half between them. Please see the examples of all possible double handicaps below.

Draw No Bet

As the name implies, this type of handicap usually occurs when the chances of either team winning the match are fairly even. You are basically betting without the option of a draw, as your stakes will be returned in case of a tie. You accordingly win, if your selected team wins the match.

Alternative asian handicap symbols: dnb, level 0, asian -0, asian 0:0 or simply 0

AH -0,25/+0,25

If you bet on the team that has a -0,25  handicap placed on them, you will win if the selected team wins, regardless of the score. In case of a draw you lose 50% of your stake and the other half is returned to your account. If you chose to back the opposition with an +0,25 AH, you will once again win if the team wins the match, but in case of a draw half your stakes is returned, while the other half will be considered as a winning bet, at the selected odds.

Alternative asian handicap symbols: -1/4 +1/4 or -0&-0,5 +0&+0,5 or 0,25:0 0:0,25

AH -0,5/+0,5

This is perhaps the easiest-to-understand Asian Handicap, as the favorite has to overcome a simple half goal lead. If you bet on a -0,5 AH, you will win if your team gets the victory. Placing a bet at a +0,5 handicap on the underdog, is the same as betting on a double chance of a “draw or away win”. You might notice a slight difference between the AH +0,5 and the Double Chance in terms of odds. That’s because bookmakers places a higher overround on traditional 3-way betting, in order to cover the higher number of outcomes.

Alternative asian handicap symbols: -1/2 +1/2 or 0,5:0 0:0,5

AH -0,75/+0,75

If you select this bet, you technically split your bet and instead place two equal bets on your team to overcome both the -0,5 and -1 handicaps. You win both these bets, if the team wins the match by two or more goals. If it wins by a single goal, then half your stake will be returned (as the -1 handicap is considered as void) and win the other half at the odds offered. The same occurs if you select the underdog, as once again, half your stake is placed on the +0,5 bet and the other half on the +1 bet. You’ll win if your team wins or draws the match and lose half your stake if they lose by at most one goal.

Alternative asian handicap symbols: -3/4 +3/4 or -0,5,-1 +0,5,+1 or 0,75:0 0:0,75
